Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Cleanwire does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal data. We have no servers, no analytics and no accounts.

What it does with DNS requests

The system extension checks, on your Mac, the DNS requests (the names of the sites your apps want to reach). Blocked ones get a local answer. Allowed ones are forwarded to the DNS your Mac already used (or the servers you choose in Settings), which sees them as it did before.

What stays on your Mac

Settings, lists, rules and counters stay on your Mac. The request history is optional: you can choose off, anonymous (without the app name) or full; by default it is anonymous and deleted after 7 days. You can turn it off and clear it any time in Settings. In the system logs that are kept we only write counters, never site names.

List downloads

The app downloads blocklists over HTTPS from the sites that publish them (the default is StevenBlack/hosts, on raw.githubusercontent.com). As with any download, those servers see your IP address; we send no identifier.

Children, tracking, ads

No tracking, no advertising, no data about children.
